1. A research team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) discovered a more advanced application of tattoo technology: monitoring blood glucose levels with inks made from nanoscale particles.

2. The hyperglycemia state of diabetes can cause damage to the body and cause symptoms such as retinal detachment. For diabetic patients and their attending doctors, it is especially important to detect blood sugar levels. The general monitoring method is to take blood several times a day to measure blood sugar, but because people have large differences in blood glucose levels before and after meals, there is no guarantee that the test method is completely accurate.

3. With the advancement of technology, some means of continuously monitoring blood sugar have emerged, but these methods usually require the instrument to penetrate the blood vessels and contact the bloodstream, and it is not suitable for long-term use.

4. MIT's research team is committed to finding ways to use it for a longer period of time. Eventually they encapsulated the nanotubes in a glucose-sensitive polymer to create an "ink" that can be injected into the skin.
