In the tattoo equipment, debugging the thread cutting machine and the fog machine is very important, let's talk about it below. When you step on the foot switch, slowly lower the top wire so that it touches the contact point. When they touch and form a closed loop, your tattoo machine will start. A rough empirical method is that when you press down the armature by hand, the distance between the contact point on the front shrapnel and the top wire should be roughly the same as the diameter of the needle post. Such a tattoo machine is suitable for thread cutting. The characteristics of the tattoo cutting machine are that the front shrapnel is short, the number of coil turns is small, and the running speed is fast; when the tattoo machine runs to a larger stroke, the gap between the contact point on the front shrapnel and the thread is larger than the diameter of the needle post. Suitable for fogging, tattoo fogging machines are characterized by long front shrapnel, large number of coil turns, slow running speed, and high strength.

This distance will be slightly different due to the shape of each machine or shrapnel. If they are not in firm contact, you can make up for it by adjusting a little top wire. When doing this, stop the tattoo machine and adjust the armature to a lower position. Another method is to self-test the distance that the armature runs. When the tattoo machine is started, you can calibrate the top wire. When the armature moves up and down about 1 or 1.5 needle diameters (depending on which machine you adjusted at the time), the tattoo machine can run like this to prove that you are doing it right. The diameter distance of the armature movement is the distance of the tattoo needle tip movement.
